obsession de semaine
Now that summer is in full swing, I starting to get used to my daily schedule. Something that is super important to me (especially during the summer) is exercise. I'm a swimmer and I am currently swimming for a club team and a summer league team. This is where the majority of my exercise comes from but on the days I can't make it to practices, I try not to let myself slip.
There are so many different ways to work exercise in during the day with no hassle. You can workout with no gym and still get great results!
Swimming: Swimming is my go-to workout for obvious reasons, but it really is a great full body workout. It is easy on joints and is cardiovascular and strengthening all at the same time. If you have a club nearby, Masters swimming is a great way to get involved with swimming in an instructional but non-competitve (you can compete if you like!) environment.
Running: I'm not a great runner but it is a great workout. I normally run once a week for my dryland training. It allows me to keep up with my running so I can stay in shape with running as well. There are so many benefits to running but it is also a great cardiovasuclar workout as well.
Yoga: Yoga is great for flexibilty, stretching, muscle tension, stress relief, etc. I love it because it is a great time to relax and reflect. If you've never tried yoga, I encourage you to try! The amount of benefits to yoga are too many to count.
Barre Conditioning: I've been to a few barre classes and it is no joke. At a young age, I was a dancer so I somewhat knew what was going on. It is influenced heavily by ballet (first position, second position, etc.) and is a total muscle burn workout. The use of very small movements allows for muscles to get a hard workout but keep joints safe.
