obsession de semaine
It sorta just hit me that it's already July. Where the heck did June go? This summer has already flown by and I still have another month left. The fact that I leave for college so soon is starting to settle in and become real. Also, July is my last full month I have left in Colorado. It's hard to think that I'll have to leave this state so soon but there are many adventures ahead!
This week I have a few things lined up to share with my readers and I'm very excited about it all. So, today I'm going to give you a little of a precursor to what is coming this week!
The Boys in the Boat This is a book my parents bought for me for graduation. I just finished Love Does recently so now I'm going to focus on just reading this book. It is all about rowing and the hardships of the American team going to the 1936 Olympics in Berlin. It's very history heavy and I love that about this book.
Sidenote: While I'm on the topic of college...the reason my parents bought me this book was because I will be on the rowing team at the University of Oklahoma. The school is beautiful and I fell in love with the school spirit when I was there. I'm also super excited to get to school and begin rowing. It's going to be an amazing new adventure. Boomer Sooner!
Tomorrow, I will have a complete list of summer books I recommend. I'm not a huge book expert but I do enjoy reading in the summertime and I'll let in you in on all my favorites!
Young Life I've been involved in Young Life for about three years now and it has been a great thing for me. It's been on my mind a lot lately because the YL area I live in just got home from camp and this time last year, I was just returning home from Work Crew (a month at Woodleaf- a Young Life camp working at the camp). I am also planning on getting involved in Young Life College at OU. YL is a great organization and there is YL all around the country (even internationally!).
