Goals for the Summer
I usually write out my goals for the summer early on, but as you'll see in some of my goals to follow, I haven't taken out enough time to work on the things I really want to build while I have some time off. I've spent less time writing lately, which is something I am always striving to do more of, and I feel like I've just barely gotten a chance to get into the groove of my new schedule.
Be More Inspired // For my writing, for everything in general. I like to live my life with a purpose and goal in mind always, and that's something I have not done yet this summer. A few summers ago I challenged myself to journal everyday for the entire summer. I may not have journaled every single day, but the challenge was there to constantly find something new to write down. I still LOVE every time I get a chance to sit down and write, but I haven't given myself the time to do so lately.
Drink More Water // This is something I used to be pretty good about doing. I still take my water bottle everywhere but now I only drink one bottle a day instead of two or more. I'm not sure that there is any better way to fix this than to just constantly remind myself to drink more water. My goal is two bottles (Nalgenes) per day and going from there.
Live an Hour More // The quote at the top of the post has been on my mind over the past week or so. I saw it a few years ago written on a coffee cup and has been one of my favorite quotes ever since then. I work downtown three days a week, so I have to get up and spend about an hour driving on those mornings. The Austin traffic can be obnoxious at times and I hate having such a frustrating thing to start the morning.
I've made the goal of waking up a little earlier to start the day on a different foot than how I have been. A couple of days in the past week I've woken up a little earlier to go to a 7am SoulCycle class and I believe it is such a uplifting way to begin the day.
I've been brainstorming some other ways to start the day too. I've thought about waking up and heading downtown an hour earlier to spend some time sipping coffee at Whole Foods or Austin Java. Mornings are my favorite (read why here) and I want to maximize the time I am able to enjoy them, even if my schedule might say differently.
