Mother's Day Gift
I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day with their family and loved ones! I spent the day with my mom, dad, and brother. We went to brunch at Brio, then spent the rest of the day at the mall and hung out at home. It was a great Sunday!
A few days before Mother's Day, I started looking at some Pinterest DIY crafts for Mother's Day (guilty of last minute gifting) and I found this super cute idea!
So I started crafting! It didn't turn out exactly like the one I found on Pinterest but I added a little of my own touch to it. I started by painting a Mason Jar to out flowers in. I also found a way to do this on Pinterest (you can find these on my crafting board on Pinterest). I knew there had to be more to it than just painting the jar. I found out that if you aren't using a brand new mason jar (which I wasn't), you have to use rubbing alcohol first to prep the jar. Then, you just paint the outside of the jar and so on (you can find the link to the tutorial I used here).
Then, I went and found milk bottles at the Container Store. I had seen them there the week before so I luckily knew where to find them. They were a little smaller than what I had imagined but they worked for what I was trying to do. They also didn't quite peek over the top of the wooden box I bought at Joann's but it still worked out!
I bought a wooden box and painted it white, grabbed some chalkboard labels and stuck them on the milk bottles and threw it all together!
In the milk bottles, I was originally going to but body wash and bath salts like in the photo, but I just collected some different bath salts and put a different kind in each bottle!
I really loved the way it turned out and that she can continue to use it and still have it as a decoration!
I hope everyone has a great rest of their week!
