My Favorite Documentaries

My Favorite Documentaries

Lately, my 'To Watch' list of documentaries has been growing with old favorites to watch again and some new ones I've yet to see. I'm not much of a movie person because I never have the attention span but documentaries are a different story. I've always loved them and I don't get tired of them either. Here are the documentaries I love and still want to see:

"180° South" // I mentioned in my last post how much I love the music from the this documentary. It tells the story of Jeff Johnson and his journey to Patagonia, much like Patagonia founder Yvon Chouinard did himself. This is hands-down my favorite movie.

"Last Chance U" // This is a Netflix original and it is six one-hour episodes. It tells the story of Junior College football players just trying to find their way into division I football and the process behind it. My favorite part was following the stories of each player and eventually seeing them get an offer from great schools. Spoiler alert: one of the players ended up starting against OU in the Sugar Bowl this year. It was so cool to see while also watching my team play too!

"Inside British Vogue" // I just watched this one and loved it. The story line is a little confusing but what I loved what that it showed something you never get to see. I was especially interested because, as an aspiring magazine editor, this showed everything that goes into published an issue of British Vogue. The downfall was that it was one two episodes but it's definitely worth the watch.

"Happy" // I watched this in a class in high school and I remember loving it because it is so thought-provoking. It's been a while since I last watched it so I need to rewatch it soon!

"Blackfish" // I don't know how I've gotten away with this, but I've yet to watch Blackfish. Of course, I've heard so much about it, but it's on my list and I will be watching soon.

"Dior and I" // When I searched for Inside British Vogue, a ton of suggested fashion documentaries came up too. I put this one on my list as well as some others like "Yves Saint Laurent".

I know this was a random collection of documentaries, but it shows a little bit of everything. I love sports documentaries, the ones that make you think and fashion documentaries. As soon as I have some free time and a rainy day, I'll be wrapped up with a cozy cup of coffee, marathoning these new documentaries.

Have you seen any of these? Let me know in the comments. I'd love to hear which ones are your favorites!

xoxo, emily
