Day One in Napa
My family and I are in California for our annual trip to the Napa Valley! We spent all day yesterday touring a few wineries and taking in the beautiful scenery. This is my second year coming to Napa with the family and the miles of vines take my breath away every single time.
It was an unusually hot day for Northern California in early June so this flowy outfit was perfect for the day.
I bought this hat at White House Black Market last year and sadly didn't wear it for a while. But, after finding the perfect outfit, it adds a great final touch to top it off.
The shirt and shorts I wore were actually on the mannequin exactly like this and I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. My mom and I were shopping together and she pointed out the shirt and I decided to try the shorts too. And I loved them together!
I threw on my Birkenstocks with this outfit, too, as a last minute decision. These are another thing in my closet that I put off until I found the perfect outfit. The first time I wore these they killed my feet. Everyone always talks about how comfortable Birkenstocks are but I didn't understand for the first week or so that I had them. But finally, I had an outfit that was too perfect to pass up and had to wear them. I have to admit, they weren't very comfortable for the first few hours of wearing them but after a while, they broke in a little more. Moral of the story: if your Birks aren't comfortable at first, give them a little time :)
