Wish Week 2015
For the past 6 years, Rock Canyon High School has teamed up with the Make-a-Wish Foundation to raise money through the Kids for Wish Kids chapter. In the past 6 years, we have raised over $300,000 for the foundation and granted 40 wishes. This year, we adopted Jeremy, whose wish was to go on a Disney Cruise. His first wish, however, was for it to rain hot dogs. So, at the closing assembly, we loaded up a net full of hot dog balloons and made it rain hot dogs. The look on Jeremy’s face at that moment was something indescribable. The amount of joy that was brought to him when this happened was something that can never be taken away from him. Jeremy will forever be apart of the Rock Canyon family. If you ask any Rock Canyon student, they will tell you that Wish Week is truly the most magical week of the year. From dodgeball to basketball, to even duct taping a teacher to the wall, it’s something that cannot be forgotten. Every Wish kid has a special place in every students’ hearts. The experience brings the school to become bonded, gives everyone a giving attitude, and forms a community throughout the area. I am so grateful for the past four Wish Week's I have been able to experience and will miss the unforgettable times. My Wish is for Rock Canyon to continue this tradition for years to come, so that every Rock Canyon student may experience the magic of Wish Week. What’s yours?
